我们是一批来自中国大陆的留学生，信主成了基督徒后，就常为国内的福音事工祷告，盼望更多的同胞能够接受耶稣基督为救主。我们在祷告中逐渐意识到，中国知识分子能够皈依基督是中国福音化的关键之一。我们逐渐一致认为：借助学术研究和交流向中国知识分子传福音是我们的最主要的异像，资助基督教专业的研究生是我们最主要的也最先开始的事工。2005年，中国教育部率先在北京大学和复旦大学设立了宗教系招收本科生和硕士研究生。针对这一现象，我们首先设立了专门资助国内宗教系基督教专业的硕士（当时还没有博士生）。我们第一张支票就是资助复旦大学宗教系基督教专业的学生（见下图）。由于各校宗教系从2007年就停止招收本科生了，同时硕士生和博士生也越来越多，所以从2014年开始专门资助基督教研究专业的博士生了。这项事工至今还在继续进行中。

由于从2005年开始我离开了达拉斯教会，加入在洛杉矶的“恩福基金会”并担任学术交流部主任。我因此也把资助学生的奖学金事工也带到了恩福基金会，并入到我的学术交流部的事工中。因此，我们在资助学生的同时，也与各大学、社会科学院的宗教研究相关的科系及学者们保持密切的关系，并且积极参与相关的学术活动。比较典型的就是从2007年开始，我们不仅积极参与中国社会科学院世界宗教研究所每年举办的“基督宗教及跨宗教研讨会”，我们还有幸成为该会议的协办单位之一。

2007年，我们为了纪念马礼逊来华200周年，特意举办了“回顾与展望：中西文化交流暨纪念马礼逊来华200周年”国际学术研讨会。来自世界32个国家与地区的50多位专家学者参加了会议。会后，我们还出版了论文专集。为了便于与国内各大学和社科院联系何合作，我们特地成立了“基督教与中国研究中心”。 自那以后，我们便每年举办一次全国性的学术会议，三年一次国际性的学术会议作为我们“基督教与中国研究中心”的主要事工之一。会议的研究主题始终围绕着：基督教与近代中国社会现代化。迄今为止，我们与不同的大学合作已经举办了十一次学术会议，每年一本的论文集也出版了八本（另有三本一直处于审查中）。2013年开始出版《中国基督教研究》半年刊杂志。2014年开始与上海大学“宗教与社会研究中心”合作开始转向网络版《中国基督教研究》半年刊，已经出版了18期了。2020年开始，由上海大学肖清和教授担任杂志主编。

我们从2015年开始，将每年的奖学金颁奖活动固定在上海大学举行，同时也增添了两个内容：

1，要求获奖同学聚集在上海大学进行论文交流和点评，

2，设立了“优秀论文奖”---根据学生的论文交流情况当场评选出三名优秀论文获奖者。

从2018年起，“基督教与中国研究中心”正式脱离“恩福基金会”开始独立运作，所以我们也回归到起初专门为奖学金事工而设立的“中国基督教教育基金会”。 （从2020年全球进入“疫情”至今，我们这些活动也基本上限于网上举行。）由于疫情已经结束，所以我们机构的所有活动从2023年开始全面恢复运作：

1，2023年4月28-29日《中国基督教研究》杂志社全体编委在上海大学举办了两天的“退修会”暨学术交流会。

2，我们每年一次的全国性的学术研讨会（三年一次的国际性学术研讨会）也从2023年开始恢复活动：今年的国际会议就在日本福冈女子大学与该校联合举办，时间从11月3-5日

3，我们的论文出版也继续进行；

4，2023年十一月底，我们也将继续在上海大学（或北京大学）继续举办基督教研究优秀博士生评选和颁奖活动，同时举办博士论文交流和优秀论文评选活动。

We are a group of international students from mainland China. After we became Christians, we often pray for the gospel ministry in China, hoping that more fellow citizens could accept Jesus Christ as their Savior. Through our prayers, we gradually realized that the conversion of Chinese intellectuals to Christ is one of the keys to the evangelization of China. We have gradually agreed that evangelizing Chinese intellectuals through academic research and communication is our main vision, and funding graduate students majoring in Christianity Study is our main and first ministry. In 2005, the Ministry of Education of China first established Departments of Religious Studies at Peking University and Fudan University for undergraduates and masters’ students. In response to this, we first set up a special fund for the master's degree in Christianity Study majors of Religious Study Departments (there were no doctoral students at that time). Our first check was to support the students majoring in Christianity Study in the Religion Studies Department of Fudan University (see the picture below). Since the Religious Studies Departments of various schools stopped enrolling undergraduates in 2007, and there are more and more masters and doctoral students, since 2014, we began to specifically support doctoral students majoring in Christianity Studies. This work is still ongoing.

I left the Dallas church in 2005 and joined the “Bless Foundation” in Los Angeles as the Director of the Academic Communication Department. Therefore, I also brought the scholarship ministry of funding students to the “Bless Foundation” and merged it into the ministry of Academic Communication Department. Therefore, while we support students, we also maintain close relationships with departments and scholars related to religious studies in universities and Academy of Social Sciences, and actively participate in related academic activities. A typical example is that since 2007, we have not only actively participated in the annual "Christianity and Interreligious Symposium" held by the Institute of World Religions Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, but we are also honored to be one of the co-organizers of the conference.

In 2007, to commemorate the 200th anniversary of Morrison's visit to China, we held an international academic symposium on "Review and Prospect: Cultural Communication between China and the West and Commemoration of the 200th Anniversary of Morrison's visit to China". More than 50 experts and scholars from 32 countries and regions in the world attended the conference. After the meeting, we also published proceeding. To facilitate communication and collaboration with China universities and Academy of Social Sciences, we have established the "Christianity and China Research Center". Since then, we have held a national academic conference every year, and an international academic conference every three years, as one of the main ministries of our "Christianity and China Research Center". The research theme of the conference always revolves around: Christianity and the modernization of Chinese Society. To date, we have organized eleven academic conferences in collaboration with different universities, and published eight volumes of proceedings, one per year (three more are still under review). In 2013, we began to publish the semi-annual magazine "China Christianity Studies". In 2014, we start to collaborate with the "Religion and Society Research Center" of Shanghai University and switch to the online version of semi-annual "China Christianity Studies” and published 18 issues. Since 2020, Professor Xiao Qinghe from Shanghai University serves as the editor-in-chief of the magazine.

Since 2015, we have held the annual scholarship awards ceremony at Shanghai University, and we have also added two contents:

1. Award-winning students are required to gather at Shanghai University for paper exchange and review,

2. Established the "Excellent Paper Awards" --- Three excellent paper winners will be selected on the spot based on the students' paper exchanges.

Since 2018, the "Christianity and China Research Center" has officially separated from the “Bless Foundation” and started to operate independently, so we have also returned to the "China Christianity Education Foundation" that was originally established for scholarship ministry. （Since the world entered the pandemic in 2020, our activities have basically been limited to online.）Since the pandemic is over, all activities of our institution will resume full operation from 2023.

1. On April 28-29 2023, the entire editorial board of the magazine "Chinese Christian Studies" held a two-day "retreat" and academic exchange conference at Shanghai University.

2. Our annual national academic seminar (the triennial International Academic Seminar) has also resumed activities from 2023: this year’s international conference will be held jointly with Fukuoka Women’s University in Japan from November 3-5.

3. Our paper publication will also continue.

4. At the end of November 2023, we will continue to hold the selection and awarding activities for outstanding doctoral students in Christian studies at Shanghai University (or Peking University), as well as doctoral dissertation exchanges and outstanding thesis selection activities.
